Leave a group

You can leave a group on CollectionStation when you no longer want to be a member. Leaving removes you from the group member list and stops group activity from appearing in your usual browsing paths.

Leave a group

To leave a group:

1. Sign in to CollectionStation.
2. Open Groups from the site header and select the group, or open it from My Groups.
3. On the group page, hover over your Member or Organizer badge in the group header.
4. Click Leave Group.
5. In the confirmation dialog, click Leave Group again to confirm.

You can also open the group from Groups → My Groups (/groups?tab=mine).

When you leave a group

After you leave:

• Other members are not notified that you left.
• You are removed from the group's member list.
• The group is removed from your My Groups list.
• You stop seeing that group's posts in your feed and no longer receive group-related activity as a member.
• You may need a new group invitation or to click Join Group again to rejoin a public group later.

If you blocked another member, leaving a shared group does not remove either of you from groups you both already belong to. See Block a collector for how blocking affects social actions.

If you are the only organizer

If you are the only organizer, CollectionStation blocks you from leaving until another organizer is in place. You will see a message explaining that you must either:

• Promote another member to co-organizer from Edit group → Members, then leave, or
• Delete the group if you no longer want the community to exist.

CollectionStation does not automatically pause the group when the sole organizer tries to leave.

If you cannot leave

You may not see Leave Group when:

• You are not signed in.
• You are not a member or organizer of the group.
• You are the only organizer and have not promoted another organizer yet.
