Invite a collector to join a group

You can invite collectors to join a group when you want them to see posts, photos, and messages with other members. Invitations are especially useful for private and hidden groups that do not offer Join Group on the public Groups directory.

Organizers and permitted members invite collectors from inside the group. Invited collectors receive an email with a link to the group and any message you include.

CollectionStation does not support email invites to non-members or shareable invite links. You invite collectors who already have a CollectionStation account.

Invite a collector from the group

To invite collectors to join a group:

1. Sign in to CollectionStation.
2. Open Groups from the site header and select the group you belong to.
3. Click the Send Invites tab.
4. Search for collectors to invite. Turn on Connections if you want to limit the list to your connections.
5. Click each collector you want to invite. Selected names appear in the invite list.
6. Optionally customize the invite message in the text box.
7. Click Send.

Invited collectors receive an email notification. You can send up to 25 invitations in one batch.

Review or cancel pending invitations

After you send invitations:

1. Open the same group.
2. On Send Invites, click Pending Invites.
3. Review collectors who have not joined yet.
4. Click Cancel next to an invitation to withdraw it.

Organizers can cancel pending invitations sent by other members.

Who can send invitations

Not every member can invite collectors. The group's Invitations settings control who may send invites:

• All group members
• Organizers and Moderators only
• Organizers only

Organizers change this under Edit group → Invitations. If you do not see Send Invites, ask a group organizer to update your role or the group's invitation settings.

If you cannot invite someone

You may not be able to invite a collector when:

• They are already a member of the group.
• They already have a pending invitation.
• You or the collector blocked each other.
• You selected more than 25 collectors in one send batch.
