How CollectionStation suggests groups to join

CollectionStation helps you discover groups through the Groups directory, featured lists, and search — not through a separate personalized feed of group cards. Rankings use group activity and membership signals that are visible on the site, not machine-learning profiles built from unrelated features like marketplace or video history.

CollectionStation does not suggest hidden groups in public discovery lists. Private groups you do not belong to also do not appear on All Groups.

What groups you may see

You may find groups to join when:

• You browse Groups → All Groups in the site header.
• You open the Featured groups sidebar (Newest, Active, or Popular).
• You use Search on the Groups page or in the site header autosuggest.
• A collector shares a group post in your feed.
• You receive a group invitation from an organizer or member.

There is no separate Suggested for You list like some social networks use. Instead, CollectionStation surfaces public groups using the sort and featured views below.

How groups are ranked

When you browse or sort groups, CollectionStation orders them using signals such as:

• Recent activity — when the group last had feed posts or other activity (Recently Active sort and Active featured tab).
• Membership size — groups with more members rank higher under Popular (Popular sort and featured tab).
• Creation date — newer groups appear first under Newest.
• Name — alphabetical order under Name A–Z.

The Featured groups panel shows a short list (up to five groups) from the current directory using the tab you select: Newest, Active, or Popular.

CollectionStation does not currently rank groups using your city, age, language, marketplace activity, or video watch history.

Groups your connections join

If your connections belong to a group, you may discover that group when:

• They post to the group and those posts appear in your feed.
• You browse Groups and recognize a community your connections participate in.

Connection Suggestions may also note shared groups when recommending collectors to connect with — that can be a clue about communities collectors like you already join.

How to see more relevant groups

If the default list does not match your interests:

• Use Search on Groups to find a topic or group name.
• Change the sort menu to Popular, Newest, or Name A–Z.
• Open groups whose type matches your interest (General, Meetup, or Club on the group card).
• Leave groups you no longer use so My Groups stays focused on communities you care about.
• Ask organizers or members to invite you to private groups you cannot find in the directory.

CollectionStation does not offer a Not interested control on group cards in the directory. Use search and sort instead to narrow what you browse.
